To use any computer on campus this form needs to be signed and returned to the school.
Forms are available in the Activities Office.
Access to computers and internet must support the educational goals of West Mesa
High School. Violation of the ethical and legal use of computers and the internet will
terminate the student's access to all computers for a minimum of one semester with a
review by the appropriate principal.
Prohibited activities include, but not limited to the following:
- Illegal activities such as transmission of any material in violation of US or NM
regulations.
- Commercial activities
- Playing games, downloading, printing, scanning, of non-teacher approved material.
- Any antisocial behaviors, including sexually explicit material, hate mail, excessive
violence, harassment, obscenity, etc.
- Seeking information on, obtaining copies of, or modifying files, data, or passwords
belonging to other users, or gaining unauthorized access to systems.
- Vandalism in any form (intentional or not)
- Sharing/giving or selling the internet account
- Chat Lines, List Servers and/or Bulletin Boards
- Food, drink, gum, candy, make up, etc.
Electronic mail (e-mail) is not guaranteed to be private. System's managers in charge do
have access to all accounts including mail. Messages relating to or in support of illegal
or improper activities may be reported to the authorities.
I understand and will abide by the above Computer Use and Internet Use Agreement.
I understand that any violation of the above regulations may cause my computer privileges
to be revoked and could result in expulsion from class, Mustang Roundup, suspension from
school, lowering grades and/or loss of credit. All damages due to vandalism will be charged
to me and/or my parents/guardians and payment will be required.
As a parent or guardian of this West Mesa student, I have read the above agreement and I
understand that any violation of the above terms may cause my student's computer privileges
to be revoked and compensation for any damages is my and my student's responsibility. I
recognize that it is impossible for West Mesa High School to be responsible for materials
acquired on the internet and I will not hold West Mesa High liable. I understand it is my
responsible to inform the school in writing if I do not want my student to use the internet.
